Service to the community has always been a part of Larsen’s life. The following is a list of civic engagements and volunteer duties Larsen Jay has participated in that have helped improve the East Tennessee community.
(2021 - present) Serves as a TNAchieves Mentor to help new graduates as they enter secondary education. [www.TNAchieves.org]
(2016 - 2017, 2016 - present) Served as the founding Co-Chair of the Survivor's Council and continue to serve as a peer-mentor to patients under the care of the Trauma & Emergency Dept. [www.UTMedicalCenter.org]

(2019 - present) Serving as a board member to help this East Tennessee nonprofit organization working to ensure that our community enjoys exceptional recreational opportunities, natural beauty and open spaces, and that these assets exist for generations to come. [www.LegacyParks.org]

(2005 - 2010) Founder and Producer of the nonprofit organization behind the formation of landmark downtown events such as Holidays on Ice (downtown Ice Rink), Daddy Daughter Dance, Annie & Mary Poppins Movie Sing-A-Longs, and the East TN Chili Cook-Off. Many of these events still continue today and serve as fundraisers for nonprofit organizations.
(2002 - 2004) Served as an advisory committee member to help promote filmmaking in the region.
